VALENCIA GILES FEATURED IN BOLD JOURNEY'S "MEET" SERIES
Our very own Mrs. Valencia Giles, Music Director of the Lawrenceville-Suwanee School of Music, was recently featured in Bold Journey's "Meet" series — and we couldn't be prouder.
In the interview, Mrs. Giles shared her personal journey from a seven-year-old girl with a spinet piano to leading a school that now serves more than 1,200 students with 60 instructors across three locations.
She opened up about her struggles with self-worth, how she once walked away from music, and how she found the courage to start teaching again, beginning with piano lessons in her closed-in garage.
Today, the Lawrenceville-Suwanee School of Music has remained debt-free, been named Best of Gwinnett for 11 consecutive years, and was honored as National Music School of the Year. But for Mrs. Giles, the real reward is what happens inside the classroom.
Mrs. Valencia Giles, shares:
“We teach music. We create opportunities. We serve our community. We develop our team. And most importantly, we remind people of the value that is already inside them.”
What's next for our school family?
Our Creative Arts Academy — an extension of our school offering programs for all music and arts, giving students even more ways to explore their creativity.
Our student performances at the historic Fox Theatre in Atlanta on October 18, 2026 — following last year's unforgettable performance at Carnegie Hall!
Whether your child is just starting out or has been with us for years, this is what we're building together: a place where students don't just learn an instrument; they learn confidence, discipline, creativity, and how to believe in themselves.
Character First, Education Second. That's our philosophy, and it's why families across Gwinnett choose us.
Thank you for being part of our story. We can't wait to see what your child discovers next.
